May House Project Notes

Leveling the House

Once the footers were dry and ready to work the forms were removed and the work to install floor jacks and replace the wooden posts started. The resulting system must be exactly level. Here is the transit set up to make sure the house could be leveled properly.

Jacks are installed and the posts are removed.

This is what it looked like at the end. All level and ready for the block wall to start.

Because we are adding a radiant floor heating system we needed to beef up the whole floor to handle the extra weight. Here is a picture of one of the 48 foot manufactured beams that are going under the floor for added support. The cider press shed in the background is going to be removed and the garage put in its place.
