July House Project Notes
Window Framing
Lots of work is going on now. To make the web site more readable I've selected sections and presented several weeks worth of pictures on a specific topic in each section. In many cases the work is taking place simultaneously but it makes more sense to see it sequentially.
We are replacing the downstairs windows with all new energy efficient ones. We have also moved many of the upstairs windows to new locations. This has resulted in a lot of window framing.
Here is the upstairs with the new window locations. We've moved the windows up the wall to provide better views of the orchard and give us a larger east window in the bedroom.

Downstairs work is going on to add an additional window in the dining area. The location for the fireplace makes a convenient entry for framing materials.

Here is the east side view showing where the fireplace will be.

Originally the upstairs windows did not have regular sills. Here are the new sills waiting for installation.

Upstairs Inside Framing
Right now the upstairs is still prety empty but it soon will have walls separating it into a sitting and reading area, two small closets, a bathroom and a master bath.

Here is the view from the sitting area looking towards the stairs. The second and third pictures are looking towards the master bedroom through where the closets and bathroom are.
