Knitting Projects

Here I am modeling my first sweater. I hadn't even finished off the ends!

Unfortunately I mistakenly put it in the clothes washer and felted it to small child size. I thought I had used all superwash wool but I obviously didn't!.

My second sweater was made from our own black Welsh mountain sheep wool. It's lightweight but very very warm. No Pictures, I'll try to get some when I unpack it for winter.

In a fit of stupidity I decided to knit a baby blanket for Ken's Niece. I had lots of problems finding the yarn to finish it and weaving in the ends.

It took months but here it is all finished, finally.

I make a lot of socks. They are easy, fun and useful. No pictures yet but maybe someday.

I've also been making hats of my own design. They are like helmets with ear flaps to keep our ears warm when feeding the animals on cold mornings. They look a bit silly but are wonderfully practical. The helmet hats were a life saver this winter in Colorado when feeding the sheep!

After some work I made modified versions of these hats with ties to pull them close around the ears. Here is the second revision of helmet hats.

For hunting season I made some in blaze orange.
